I am a junior at SNHU after recently transferring from Ursinus College. I am majoring in English with the hopes of becoming an editor or working within the editing field. I love all components of English, so I like to read and write in my spare time. I also love to complete puzzles of all kind: jigsaws, crosswords, sudoko, etc. I also can't forget video games!

Whitians Society

As a female student that completed a certain number of credits and maintained a high GPA, I was inducted into the Whitians Society. One had to be invited and recommended to the society before being inducted. The society has a lifetime enrollment, but I was first enrolled in Fall 2021.

I participated in a workout program run by an outside gym at my high school. I went and worked out for an hour every day after school. Two days of the week were directly with the trainers and the other three were my own workouts.

Active Minds was a mental health club that worked to de-stigmatize mental illnesses and offer resources with easy access to any student or faculty. As secretary, my responsibilities included attending every meeting, time keeping, note keeping, and sharing notes with all members after each meeting.

I played on the basketball team as starting point guard. I had practice for two hours every day after school. I had 1-2 games a week; some were home games and others were away at opposing schools. My highest amount of points scored in a single game were 21.

Tour Guide

I was selected as a tour guide by the Admissions office; one had to be recommended in order to be a tour guide. My responsibilities included showing prospective students and candidates around the campus while discussing the school and what it offered. I had to answer all questions and connect them with faculty. The tours were during a free period, so I designated that time to help the admissions office.

Writing Fellow

The Writing Fellows were a student led organization that helped fellow students with their papers and assignments. One had to apply and be accepted in order to be a Writing Fellow. I had to give up a free period a day in order to go work in the Writing Center. My responsibilities included editing, outlining, researching, and publishing with fellow students. I worked with students aged 11-19.

I was elected Editor in Chief for all four years that I worked for the school literary magazine, known as the Palantir. I was in charge of collecting and judging submissions, creating layouts, printing, and giving final approval. I also was in charge of all the other students that were a part of the club.

Theatre

I acted on stage in theatre for three years. We had rehearsal every day after school for two hours. The week of our production we would have rehearsals after school for seven hours. We then would put on the shows three times; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Rehearsals included learning lines, researching the characters, practicing different actions and lines, moving props, practicing makeup, trying on costumes, etc. I had the lead role in my second year and won an award for my portrayal.

Work Experience

Tutor at Varsity Tutors

I tutored students of all ages in multiple subjects. The ages ranged from Kindergarten to college graduates. Some subjects I tutored were all levels of English, reading, writing, editing, researching, formatting, outlining, SAT, College applications, High School applications, and more. Most students I would meet with weekly for an hour or two. They would either bring their own work to focus on or I would create work plans for them.

Brand Associate at Old Navy

I was the manager of the dressing rooms. I monitored people going in and out, cleaned all rooms, rehung/refolded clothes, and returned merchandise to its proper place in the store. I also cleaned the entire store and answered questions from customers. I also reticketed items when they were placed in the clearance section.

I was in charge of a register. I scanned and bagged merchandise for customers and enrolled them in loyalty programs. I also cleaned the surrounding area to ensure neatness.
