Benjamin May

I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. I am lucky to have attended a great school system in Vestavia Hills, and I graduated from high school there in 2016. I had a few spectacular history teachers who went above and beyond to bring the content to life. Their passion for teaching history made me look forward to attending class each day, and soon, I began considering education as a career. I've always hoped to make a career out of something that I love, and by the end of high school, I could see myself genuinely enjoying a career as an educator. Aside from history and teaching, I have an... eclectic range of interests. Music has always been a passion; I play a few instruments and I enjoy listening to a variety of genres, especially alternative rock. I love motorsports; I attend races at Talladega at least once a year. Whenever there's an opportunity to make a pun, I'll make it. I'm also fascinated by theology and philosophy - I've recently developed an interest in those subjects thanks to some professors at Jacksonville State, and I want to keep learning. One of my favorite things to do is to sit down, relax, and just have a conversation with someone.
