Benjamin Desrochers

I am pursuing education in political science at the University of New Hampshire to better understand and help the society in which I live; moreover, I am training in a fantastic ROTC detachment on campus, preparing to serve as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force and engage in a culture of integrity, service, and excellence. No matter where I go, I intend to reflect on my progress with the ability to say this: I am better than I was yesterday, and I have inspired somebody to be better tomorrow. A central aspect of my character can be summed up in one phrase: Walk with a purpose. While there are certainly more entertaining elements of who I am, those four words have remained at the center of my decisions since I first heard them from an amazing mentor in my life. My proven dependability, rigorous attention-to-detail, and strong adaptability stems from this core philosophy. Being a guy who likes to follow the rabbit holes of curiosity, I have often participated in a wide range of activities, from Kenpo Karate and casual film studies to student leadership and various volunteer-based groups (not to mention my devotion to the Air Force aim high!). I look forward to making future connections and embracing the opportunities ahead.
