Brett Denison

My name is Brett Denison. For the last four years, I worked for Charter Communications. I am the Director of the AIOps & Automation Software Development department. I lead a software development organization tasked with designing and developing automation, monitoring, reporting, analytics, and configuration management solutions that increase situational awareness of the Video Operations and Engineering teams. The applications are based on technology and custom software that improve visibility and operational performance awareness. Before that, I was the Technical Director of Nokia's Network Operations Division (NOD) Architecture & Development group. I managed a team of software developers and system engineers. I had architecture responsibilities for all the NOD global network operation centers (GNOC) spread worldwide. I worked for AT&T/Lucent Technologies/Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia for 31 years, with eight years as an Engineer/Research Scientist for Bell Laboratories Research Division. My primary research within Bell Labs was fault correlation, network performance analysis, and operational network management tools and technology. I have had several articles published in research journals and have been an invited speaker at several industry conferences on Network Management. I have a U.S. patent on Managing Multiple Private Data Networks Using Network and Payload Address Translation (#6581108). I earned an associate degree in applied science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Arundel Institute of Technology (1988). I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix (1999) and a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix (2001). I earned a Doctor of Science in Anthropology from the American University (2004). I am pursuing a second masters degree in Data Analytics from Southern New Hampshire University. I have the following active industry certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Professional Scrum Master I, ITILv4 Foundation Certification, Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer (PCEP), Agile Hybrid Project Pro (AH-MC), Certified DevOps Architect, Accredited Software Test Manager Certification, and Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. I grew up in Severna Park, Maryland, and then moved to Clearwater, Florida (where I lived for ten years). I then relocated to Aurora, Colorado, where I have lived for 23 years. I am married (35 years) and have two children, both girls (28 and 30).
