Caleb Arena
I am a first-year Mechanical Engineering (BS) student at Georgia Institute of Technology. I plan to concentrating in either automotive or manufacturing, and with an additional minor in Computer Science. I am a current member of Georgia Tech Motorsports (Formula FSAE) team as a chassis development sub-system member. I am also a member of the Yellow Jack Flying Club, and plan to be a student pilot at the end of the 2022 calendar year, training to earn my Private Pilot License prior to my graduation at Georgia Tech. When not studying I enjoy playing volleyball with friends, going to concerts and music festivals, and learning new and fun skills such as guitar.

Georgia Tech Motor Sports
GT Motorsports provides the opportunity to utilize the theoretical knowledge earned from coursework and acquire practical experience in real-life situations by designing, building, and testing open-wheeled, F1-style race cars in preparation for Formula SAE competition (FSAE). Race enthusiasts gather each year in Brooklyn, Michigan at the iconic Michigan International Speedway to participate in the largest North American competition of its kind. The event is attended by teams from the worlds top engineering and technological universities.
My current role as a member of the chassis development sub-system team has allowed me to learn basic and advanced computer aid design (CAD) principles, fabrication techniques and testing procedures for designing a chassis frame for the competition car, as well as smaller, related projects. One such project that I was in charge of designing and manufacturing was a quick jack lift for the rear portion of the car. My favorite skill that I have learned since joining the competition team has been TIG welding, and I am most excited to learn more about computer aided manufacturing (CAM) and CNC manufacturing.
