Vex Robotics
During the school year my team of 5, including myself, designed and created a robot that could be operated autonomously as well as manually to perform tasks to a specific annual game. There were 13 Vex robotics teams at Pembroke Academy in the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons. There are multiple ways to qualify for the world championship but in 2018 my team's robot was ranked 11th out of thousands in the world in a skills based activity. The 2016-2017 year's task was to try and get as many scoring objects on the opponents side while defending against offending objects yourself. The 2017-2018 year's competition was to stack cones on mobile goals and stationary goals as well as move those mobile goals into scoring zones. My specific role within the team was to mainly design and build the robot but I tried to help program it whenever I could.
