I'm a STEM major by trade but a humanities major by nature: although I like to keep my technical skill set sharp, I believe that these tools are only meaningful when they are making a difference for others. Whether that is in the arena of public policy or in the lives of clients and customers, the most important and interesting aspect of data is turning that information into people-oriented outcomes like innovative education policy or actionable market insights. Without that, data is just a jumble of numbers.
