Cate Crowe is a freshman at Georgia College and State University. She graduated as salutatorian at Gatewood School in her hometown of Eatonton, Georgia. Cate is most passionate about English Literature and its influence on cultures worldwide. In her spare time, Cate finds joy in baking, binge watching Fixer Upper, and listening to her dad's vintage vinyl. You can almost always find her drinking coffee and reading a good book-preferably anything by author Pat Conroy.

Cate Crowe was recognized for studying abroad
In the summer before my senior year at Gatewood, I was given the opportunity to travel for ten days throughout Italy and Greece. Nearly thirty other classmates and my English and History teachers were able to take part in this incredible experience. We touched on classic Greek and Italian Literature and the historical relevancy it held in ancient times. This trip was immensely influential in my appreciation for literature and my desire to study abroad again in the future.

I worked in the gift shop at the University of Georgia’s Rock Eagle 4-H Center two to three nights a week during the school year, and occasionally on the weekends. My job was to unpack, price, restock, and check out kids purchasing items. During the summer, I worked five days a week for six weeks while the center hosts summer camp. During that time, I worked with around 800 kids each week.
