Ever since becoming a student at Muhlenberg College my interests in Media and Communication, along with Women and Gender studies have grown immensely. Although I did not know what I wanted to pursue my first semester of freshman year, taking classes in these subjects and interacting with professors in these departments have enabled me to become passionate about my future work at Muhlenberg.
Aside from the academic part of college, I enjoy participating in community service programs, such as Mixed Media Arts and Adopt a Grandparent. Mixed Media Arts is an after school program at the local elementary school that allows volunteers to create crafts with the 3rd graders and expose them to various art forms. Through Adopt a Grandparent I go to the retirement home in Allentown and I interact with the elderly by playing games and having conversations with them.
These two programs allow me to do something that I have always been enthusiastic about, which is engaging with people in my community. I am a friendly, open minded person which allows me to communicate well with the various people in these programs, as well as my professors and friends. Above all, I am a dedicated student and volunteer that prioritizes my work and volunteerism through my time management skills and amicable attitude.
