This proposal examines the topic of freedom of speech amongst professional athletes. Chapter 1, the Introduction, discusses the current problem that professional athletes face using their freedom of speech freely without fear of being blackballed. Chapter 2, the Literature Review, delves into researching the patterns of what happens to professional athletes who protested the American flag. It delves into the different sports organizations that this has happened in, and research about what can conserve a professional athletes’ freedom of speech. Chapter 3, the Methodology, lays out the research methodologies, research questions and instruments that will be used. Qualitative and quantitative methodologies will be proposed that will include a survey and an interview/ focus group to elaborate on the questions in the survey. Finally, the proposal ends with a References page and a complete Annotated Bibliography.
