Engineering Intern at Air Force Research Laboratory (Information Directorate)

The objective of my project was to design, simulate, and test an ultra-broadband direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) wireless communication system at terahertz (THz) frequencies (0.1-10 THz). The large available bandwidth at THz frequencies enables spread spectrum communications at data rates that were not feasible before. Using MATLAB, I generated a software-defined DSSS baseband waveform and implemented signal processing techniques. I helped carry out testing to successfully transmit and recover spread-spectrum signals at a carrier frequency of 1.02 THz, for the first time ever.
