February, 19 2018 - Elizabethtown CollegeAt Montgomery County Conservation District, I job shadowed with Krista Scheirer, a watershed specialist. Through out my three week internship, I attended meetings and environmental events. We worked together to educate several Upper Merion elementary schools about storm drains and supplied them with the proper materials to mark them. The storm drain project required me to take coordinates of storm drains around the KOP Mall and map them for volunteers to follow. Before job shadowing I had previously worked with Krista to design and plant a rain garden. Therefore, we also devoted some time to choosing additional plants and weeding the garden. I also helped with designing and planting a two other areas nearby.
I have been an associate at Panera Bread since May of 2016 and have training in dining room, dish, and cashier services. Panera Bread is constantly adapting to the changing society; therefore, I continually go through trainings and attend educational events. Showing Panera warmth is the company's way of saying customer service and a core value. It is vital to treat the customers like family. My job responsibilities also include preparing certain foods for line production. By August of 2016, I was training newly hired employees.
The summer going into my junior year, I was employed at Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, where I was an ice cream scooper. I worked around three days a week where I would directly work with customers to fulfill their needs. Especially with kids, it is important to know the products to help direct them to what they would like if their particular flavor is not available. The next summer I was employed at Panera Bread, and I continue to work there, where I am trained to take care of multiple jobs. It is vital to properly represent the company and to be responsible.
