Susan Conklin

I am a psychology major at Georgia State Univeristy, with a minor in mathematics/statistics.  I am interested in social psychology research in areas of social justice issues, heuristics and biases, discrimination, the social dynamics of subcultures, and social influence.

I plan to seek a post-bac position in a research lab after graduation, followed by a doctorate in social psychology.  I am currently volunteering in the Cognitive Sciences Lab at GSU with Dr. Heather Kleider-Offutt as an Undergraduate Research Assistant.

I enjoy being active in social justice issues.  I currently volunteer with Lost-n-Found Youth, who assist LGBTQ homeless youth in the Atlanta area.  I spend one evening a week teaching financial management and budgeting to youth in their transitional housing program, and several weekends each year volunteering at their events.  I am also a member of the GSU chapter of oSTEM (Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).  In the past, I have also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
