Craig Hadley

Director/Curator, Galleries & Collections at DePauw University

Since 2012, Craig has held the position of Director and Curator of Exhibitions and University Collections with Rank of Assistant Professor at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. He is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations of the gallery and collection program, including the management and programming of 8,000+ square feet of exhibition space, campus outreach initiatives, and budget management and external funding. He also serves on the board of the Association of Academic Museums as Galleries as the Vice President for Communications. Prior to his tenure at DePauw, he held various curatorial, teaching, and collections management positions at the Wright Museum of Art (Beloit College), the Field Museum of Natural History, the Indiana State Museum, the Logan Museum of Anthropology (Beloit College), and the Missouri History Museum. More recently, he lectured on the topic of Daniel Chester Frenchs bronze maquette for the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., and edited and published a full color 88-page catalog of DePauw Universitys comprehensive collection of postwar Japanese modern prints (sosaku hanga). A digital copy of the catalog can be found at depauw.edu/galleries/ Craig holds an MA in History with a graduate certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Missouri - St. Louis and a BA in Anthropology with minors in Museum Studies and Asian Studies from Beloit College. He is an active board member of the Association of Academic Museums & Galleries, and also serves as a grant reviewer for the Institute of Museum & Library Services and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Oversee the care and development of 3,500+ objects, manage operating budget and gallery staff, and develop opportunities for student/faculty involvement in galleries and collections. Curate 10-12 exhibitions per year for 8,500 square feet of gallery space. Attained first time accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums in spring 2018.
