Clarissa Teran
I have excellent experience working with people and maintaining an office. I have worked at San Diego State University for two years as a Student Assistant, College Peer Advisor, and now an Administrative Assistant. I perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, and making phone calls. Besides that, I give presentations to students and parents regarding options for higher education and beyond. I also work one on one with students and parents so that they understand the procedures involved with applying to colleges and maintaining acceptance with universities. I also maintained a high grade point average and received exceptional grades in all my Administration of Justice classes at Imperial Valley College. In just two years, I received two associates degrees in University Studies and Administration of justice and graduated with Distinction. I am continuing my studies at San Diego State Imperial Valley Campus to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Public Administration. Because of this, I know I can be responsible for several tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
I also work as an investigative reporter for a local magazine know as Mi Calexico. We highlight restaurants, important events, local businesses in our community. I started out as the food writer and worked my way up to cover stories that are no heard by the community.
I hope to obtain a position where I can use my acquired skills to become a valuable employee.
