Hi,
My name is Dane Spurlock. I come from a small town in northwest Arkansas called Huntsville. I live on a farm with my parents and my brother. I go to school at Huntsville High School where I study Trigonometry, Chemistry, English, Civics and Economics. I am proud to have a 3.9 GPA and a strong relationship with all of the teachers in our school. I am in Student Council serving as the secretary. I am also in a math tutoring program I co-founded and serve as the Vice President. One goal I have is to become a Dermatologist so that I can help people with their skin conditions. My second goal is to use my salary as a Dermatologist to expand our farm by purchasing neighboring property and buying more quality cattle. I had the great fortune to travel to Europe last year and this year. I have been to Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Lichtenstein. My profile picture was taken at Mount Pilatus in Lucern, Switzerland! I was recently selected to attend Arkansas Governor's School this summer for four weeks at Arkansas Tech University.

I have been accepted to Arkansas Governor's School at Arkansas Tech University. I will be going to Arkansas Tech University for a four-week summer residential program to study mathematics. The program is funded by the Arkansas State Legislature through the State Department of Education. The Arkansas Governors School is a non-credit program that seeks to create a unique experience for a select group of Arkansas students. I was accepted in February of 2023.

Math Pirates
I am a co-founder and Vise President of our math tutoring club. The purpose of our club is to go into math classes during RTI (Response to Intervention) to help those who struggle with mathematics. We only choose the best students to lead our school in tutoring. One of our goals in our club is to expand to English and Science. I will continue next year to help us reach these goals before we leave High School.

I am the Secretary of the Student Council for the 2022-2023 School year. I have the responsibilities for making announcements, arranging school events, and taking part in all of the dances. Sadly, I will not be running next year for time consuming reasons.

I am part of the Huntsville Trap Team. Many kids play football, basketball, and other sport, but my sport is shooting trap. I am not that good at my sport, but I surely do enjoy my sport.
