David Joyner
Hi! I'm David Joyner. I'm an educator, and my personal passion is for leveraging new technologies to improve student learning. I focus on using artificial intelligence to deliver individualized, personalized educational experiences. Through the power of AI, I believe we can develop agents, courses, and entire curricula that adapt to individual learners' strengths and weaknesses, thereby maintaining motivation, avoiding frustration, and improving education. I also believe that online learning is a great venue to explore this potential, reducing the effect of monetary, temporal, and geographical obstacles to quality learning.
In December 2014, I completed my Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing at Georgia Tech with my thesis, "Metacognitive Tutoring for Inquiry-Driven Modeling". I now work for Udacity as a Course Developer and General Course Manager on the Georgia Tech Online Master of Science in Computer Science.
