Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (NR-AEMT) at Brookline Ambulance Service
Brookline is a small town in Southern New Hampshire due west of Nashua, bordering Hollis, Milford, Mason, and Townsend Massachusetts. The town holds many local businesses, two public schools, multiple day care centers, and other small town amenities. The population is approximately 5,000 residents. 24 hour Police, Fire, and EMS coverage is offered. Achieved certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) via National Registry for EMT's. Responsible for performing emergency medical services for the towns of Brookline, Mason, and mutual aid upon request. Maintained knowledge of: National, State, and local EMS standard operating procedures, standard of care, and protocols. Routinely inspected/serviced ambulances for maintenance, compliance, and proper inventory. Drove ambulance and POV to and from emergency calls with appropriate emergency warning signals. Operated radios and other EMS related technology and equipment: stokes basket, stretcher, defibrillator, stair chair, suction, oxygen, etc. Engaged in the full spectrum of emergency patient care from cuts and sprains to shootings and fatalities. Appropriately triaged patients and summoned additional EMS/ALS interface as needed. Utilized Incident Command Structure (ICS) on all calls in compliance with NIMS. Supervised a wide variety of medical calls as the PRIMARY PATIENT CAREGIVER/ Senior EMT to include: patient extraction, care, and transportation from the field to the most appropriate medical facility or Med-Evac Helicopter. Communicated with sick/injured patients to provide for their comfort, care, and wellbeing. Completed all associated paperwork through NH Bureau of EMS reporting system and proper Brookline Ambulance Service procedure. Average 5-15 calls of service per month as a volunteer.
