The Recognition of Whispered Speech in Real-time

Created and published an undergraduate thesis with the collaboration of Dr. Kristi Hendrickson in the Psycholinguistics Lab to explore how people process whispered words and how it influences the perception of language.

2020 ASHA Convention Program

The research paper and corresponding poster presentation of my undergraduate thesis, "The Recognition of Whispered Speech in Real-time"was accepted into the the 2020 ASHA Convention. I am the second author on that paper, and was accepted to present the poster about it during the convention. There were more than 2,950 papers submitted for the convention this year, and all papers were peer-reviewed; the Program Committee made acceptance decisions with consideration to strength of proposal, educational content and topical relevance to the professions.

2020 ASHA Meritorious Poster Submission

My poster proposal, “The Recognition of Whispered Speech in Real-time” for the 2020 Annual Convention was designated as a Meritorious Poster Submission. The Meritorious Poster Submission recognition is for proposals judged by the Convention Program Committee to show extraordinary, exceptional, and innovative work. Each Topic Committee has the option of recommending one or two top-rated posters for this special distinction. We received 1531 total poster submissions in 2020, and only 57 were selected for meritorious recognition.
