In addition at the C.A.R.E. Church of Easton, I volunteer as a mentor/teacher for the congregation.
At the campus, I've been involved with the Hispanic Caucus. Helping plan activities and trips for the club. Picture enclose, LOL
I was part of the Lobby Day, where I was able to speak before our State representatives in favor of Community College funding with our president Dr. Erikson. Picture attached.
I was a special guest at the introduction of the Allentown Public Schools new Superintendent at the "Casa Guadalupe", representing our college. From this meeting, I was able to connect with some community leaders and by doing so doors were opened making it easy for me to do my "observations" for my Secondary Education class projects. For example, I met Mr. Carlos Lopez the founder of the Lehigh Valley Duo Language Academy who offered his school for assistance. I use this resource to help my fellow students in their struggle of getting their observation done. Not only the LVDLA, Holy Infancy Catholic School, Easton Area Academy, and Easton Area High school opened their doors for this task, but I was able to connect these leaders with our Education Department and many students were able to do their observations and this led them to volunteer at some of this schools.
Also through the college, I was able to volunteer for the November's election at the polls as a translator. Picture enclose, LOL. For this, I had to take a four-hour course at Muhlenberg College to qualify.
I was also chosen out of about 70 applicants for the Leadership program to participate in the Spring 2018 Leadership Class. Picture attached.
I don't know if this is relevant, but an article of my story appeared on the College Magazine. This was due to a grant I received for my study abroad trip to Greece. As other students received also. In return, they ask for ys to submit a short essay on why where you grateful for the grant and describe what was the outcome of the experience of studying abroad, and I won. I was chosen and an article was written about it on the Northampton College Magazine.
Also, is relevant or not, I travel to Rome, Italy on the Study Abroad program. And because of my position as a "Minister", I had the honor to escort four other students to see the Pope. Something the SA program hadn't experienced before. Also, I travel to Greece where I was able to give a short lecture at the Aristotle's Emporium on the subject of the Greek god Apollo.
