My most fulfilling role is being a single father to two amazing daughters. Professionally, I work in Health IT at Vanderbilt University Medical Centera place I feel I was meant to be. While Im not a clinician, my passion has always been to serve others by using my talents in fast-paced, meaningful environments like healthcare. Im approaching my 14th year in ITa dream Ive had since I was nine years old. But my path hasnt been easy. I grew up in a broken home, became a child of divorce, and faced challenges such as dyslexia, ADHD, and PTSD. I was painfully shy, frequently discouraged, and constantly told I wasnt smart enough for a tech career. I even had teachers and counselors laugh when I said I wanted to work with computers. But I kept fighting. I failed out of school once, struggled through lifes uncertainties, and worked in retail jobs for years believing that was the best I could hope for. But eventually, I found the courage to chase my real passion. At age 32, I earned my Associates degree in Computer Networking with honorsand a 3.82 GPA. I had graduated high school with a 1.75 GPA, so that moment was a powerful reminder that growth is always possible. Today, Im on track to complete my Bachelor's at SNHU in March 2026 with a similar GPA and have made the Presidents List twice during my time here. My parents, who both battled undiagnosed learning and mental health challenges, inspired me to do better, even without much formal education. Theyre gone now, but I carry their grit and love with me. Today, Im 800 miles away from the world I once knew, raising my daughters on my own and building a life I can be proud ofone that breaks generational cycles of poverty and limitation. I dont measure success by individual accolades. True success is shared. I want others to feel the pride of rising above setbacks, labels, and hardship. If someone like mewhos faced learning differences, trauma, and overwhelming oddscan make it, so can you. My long-term goal is to become a Chief Information Officer (CIO) in Health IT. I want to lead with compassion, vision, and a deep understanding of what it means to rise from humble beginnings. I believe in encouraging others every step of the way. I live by the words of Michelangelo: Ancora ImparoStill, I am learning. At 45, Im still growing, still pushing forward. I believe that when you pursue your passion with heart, everything else will follow.
