Derby Chukwudi
As a rising junior at Berea College studying Economics and Business Administration, Derby is seeking learning opportunities to understand the finance industry along with the Investment Banking sector. She is interested in helping developing economies enact policies that will push them to abundant development in the future. In addition to pursuing her academic goals, Derby also works as a News Writer for her college and serves as a Writing Consultant, who helps students with becoming better writers.
She is actively involved on campus and serves as a treasurer for three student organizations and is also a student mentor to five freshmen on campus.
Despite Derby's engagements, she is actively searching for opportunities to develop herself which has made her be a part of the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity(SEO) Edge Program, INROADS, and the Forte Foundation. All these experiences and opportunities have helped to further hone Derby's communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills as she continues the pursuit of career development.

This fund was established by members of the Class of 1942. The scholarships are awarded annually to students at Berea College with superior academic achievement who have demonstrated Christian character, financial need, and the capacity to persevere. A scholarship is given annually to one student from each of the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes.
