Through many years of education, earning degrees in psychology and mental health counseling, Steven has found his way into not-for-profit theatre & arts administration. After graduating with a masters degree in mental health counseling in 2015, Steven made the decision to pursue a degree in arts administration, to support his professional development as a senior administrator in Theatre and Arts management. Steven anticipates to graduate with his MS in Arts Administration in August 2016 and will continue his work at the Historic Syracuse Area Landmark Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Director of Finance and Administration at Landmark Theatre
I am currently the chief financial officer of the Syracuse Area Landmark Theatre, a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization that is responsible for the restoration, preservation, and programming at the historic Loew's State Theatre, in Syracuse, New York. The Syracuse Area Landmark Theatre (SALT) operates on a budget of over $2 million per year to enhance the Theatre through promotion of art, theatre, music, and other cultural and educational programming. As the lead financial manager, I am responsible for leading and developing a team to manage finance, business planning and budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, payroll, employee benefits, insurance, contribution and sponsorship management, and supervisory responsibilities in administration, information technology, and human resources. Over the course of my first year in the position, I have had the ability to improve and upgrade the organization's information technology and networking infrastructure, create and implement an improved cash management system, develop and execute human resource management policies, and assist in increasing revenues through productions and donor contributions.
