The 809 Project

We aimed to raise awareness of social issues in the Dominican Republic and raise funds geared towards improving clinics in the country. We hosted an event called "Humanity Is ________," where we asked other students to write their definition of what they believed humanity encompassed. We took photos of the students and showcased the work on campus. A trip was also planned for Summer 2012 to volunteer our services to the clinics, in addition to providing them with the funds we raised.

Work Experience

Transfer Liaison at SUNY New Paltz

As a transfer liaison, I am responsible for working with my team to conduct orientations and other social events geared towards transfer students. As a transfer student myself, this job is even more important to me, as I want to provide the same smooth transitions for other incoming students that I received myself.

June 2016 - Present

Server at The Main Course, Etc.

Not to be confused with the one in New Paltz, this Main Course is a cafe that focuses primarily on gourmet takeout. I act as a cashier and server, in which I take a customer's order, assemble all of their food, and ring them up. Within my position, I also oversee myself and fellow employees a few days a week during closing procedures. Essentially, I am responsible for serving customers and ensuring the cafe is properly prepared for the next day's opening.

Food Preparation & Line Cook at Hudson House

In addition to food preparation, I was also responsible for preparing various appetizers, salads, and desserts. I provided some help for banquets and holiday dinners when necessary.

My responsibilities included working the cash register, working on the coffee bar, and serving ice cream and other baked goods. I was responsible for opening and closing procedures while I worked as well.
