Vicki T. Sapp, PhD is the director of student engagement, diversity and inclusion for student affairs and assistant profession, department of clinical sciences at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (Geisinger Commonwealth). In her new position, she is responsible for developing programming and support services, as well as offering instruction to promote cultural competency and student leadership among Geisinger Commonwealth medical and graduate degree students. She works closely with the schools student clubs and organizations to promote leadership and diversity and inclusion. Dr. Sapp was most recently assistant director of housing services at Capstone On Campus Management (COCM) in College Park, MD. She has also served as director of community and organizational development at the University of Rhode Island, as assistant director of the Office of Residential Life and Housing Services at the University of Rochester, as the associate director of the Intercultural and Diversity Center at the University at Buffalo, and as coordinator for multicultural affairs at SUNY Cortland. Dr. Sapp earned her bachelors degree in psychology and a masters degree in student personnel administration from the State University College at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York and her PhD in higher educational leadership and policy from the University of Rochester. She has taught at the University of Rochester, Canisius College, the University of Buffalo, State University of New York (SUNY) Cortland and SUNY Fredonia.

Facilitated diversity and inclusion train the training sessions for professional staff; conducted diversity and inclusion workshops for professional and student staff; served on institutional wide committees to provide input and develop protocols for student leadership initiatives and Greek life expectations of excellence; served as advisor to special interest housing groups and participated on diversity and inclusion institutional wide committees.

Wayne State University Medical School & Karmanos Cancer Institute 2020 Community-Engaged Research Symposium Dec. 1-2, 2020
Dr. Sapp reviews the purpose of her custom designed Professional Identity Formation Cultural Humility Curriculum (PIFCHC) at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Sapp provides background information about her partnership with Dr. Rhonda Dailey, MD and the Train the Trainer series she facilitated to 21 faculty, staff, and community members at WSU and the five virtual training sessions Dr. Sapp have offered to the WSU community. Lastly, results from the five pre/post assessments with feedback from participants will be shared. An update will be provided at a later date as WSU have contracted with Dr. Sapp to over her 3-Part Implicit Bias training, focused on microaggressions and privilege, to medical students in all 4 years as well as faculty. At the conclusion of Dr. Sapp's partnership with WSU, she would have offered her custom designed curriculum an additional 15 times to the WSU community. Moving forward, the WSU community will receive their implicit bias training sessions from the 21 Trainers who were trained by Dr. Sapp to administer her PIFCHC.
