Diana Willeman-Buckelew, PHD

Dr. Diana Willeman-Buckelew is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health and HealthCare Leadership at Radford University Carilion. She has a Ph.D. in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology and instructs courses for the graduate programs in Health Sciences (MSHS, DHSc) and undergraduate programs in both Public Health and Health Sciences. Dr. Willeman-Buckelew has over 32 years of experience in academia and, in addition to teaching, has previously served as both a Department Chair and Program Director. She is a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and has expertise in online teaching best practices, course development, and program implementation. Being engaged in community service and volunteerism for many years, Dr. Willeman-Buckelew recognizes the importance of community collaborations to increase health literacy and improve health outcomes in a community. She is the coordinator for the HandsOn HealthCare initiative and has a scholarly interest in improving health literacy in English Language Learners.
