Elizabeth Mercier

Elizabeth "Libby" Mercier is a Junior Communications major, with a concentration in Public Relations, and a minor in Music. Currently she is taking courses to further her education on all three of these topics. She anticipates to graduate in May of 2020. Libby has two jobs on the campus this semester. She is an Admissions Assistant/Tour guide, as well as a Speaking Center Associate. During breaks and summer break she is a waitress at Loomis Village in South Hadley, Massachusetts, as well as an Orientation Leader for the incoming first years this past summer. Having these positions around Curry has allowed Libby to grow and learn many lessons in her three years at Curry. As an Orientation Leader she was able to help the first years transition to the college life, and is now a familiar face for them around campus. She learned that she could help other students conquer their fears of coming to college just as she did. As a Tour Guide on campus also helps Libby with her public speaking skills and answers any questions that families might come up with on tours. Before coming to Curry, Libby was very involved with community service projects around her hometown. She did a service called, Bag the Community for seven years. This is a project where students go around town and collect non-perishable foods to donate to the local food pantry. Libby has been a part of many different choral and A Capella groups beginning in fifth grade. She still sings to this day, her love for music led her to declare a music minor.
