August, 16 2021 - Verified by Lee UniversityAs a Hype Team member, I assisted with an online summer camp for high school students during COVID-19 by coordinating fun online Zoom activities and helping to lead classroom discussions. Through this role, I learned flexibility and overcoming obstacles while providing a positive experience for teenagers in the midst of a pandemic.
So far as an intern I have created two Excel calculators that replicate the rates for Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) policies. I have also helped to price new provisions and participated in a Business Case Challenge in which my team researched how to improve the speed of telephonic filing of claims. I have already seen significant growth in my industry knowledge, technical skills, and communication skills and am excited to continue my work throughout the school year.
As a Bear Builder, I stuffed and stitched the bears and performed Heart Ceremonies with customers to bring their bears to life. I also helped to keep the storefront clean, stocked, and running smoothly, and I strived to create meaningful experiences for both children and parents.
As a hybrid assistant, I operated Zoom classroom technology during COVID-19, displayed the professors slideshow, and resolved other technology needs. My goal was to help create a productive and efficient in-person/virtual classroom.
As a receptionist, I managed check-in, paperwork, and organization, and I provided customer service.

As a writing center tutor, I assisted college students in writing and revising essays, helped students to problem-solve and clearly communicate ideas, and ultimately strived to tutor students in a way that cultivated growth and addressed their individual needs. I am currently taking time off from this role because my schedule is too full, but I hope to continue to tutor another semester.
