I am from TN, I have worked in the IT industry for the past 20 years but a recent job loss proved to me that without a degree, acquiring a job in the IT industry would almost be impossible so here I am. Software development is a topic that has always intrigued me and something I have always wanted to learn and do, so I thought why not a career doing just that.

In the class we learned various different programming languages and the industry standards in programming. This course primarily focused on C++ development, Each one of the folder contains different assignments completed. For the projects, in Project One the code deals with creating a timing, Project Two, we created an app that calculated the amount paid to interest and in Project Three, an application was created that used C++ for the front end and Python for the data processing. We were tasked with displaying the frequency of items.

In this course we learned to examine the characteristics, documentation, and purpose of each stage in the SDLC. We learned the Agile Framework and the principles and best practices of Agile. This course primarily used Java, we took on the role of tester, product owner, scrum master, and developer to learn the different stages of Agile, we also learned other frameworks and seen examples of each.

CS-260 Data Structures and Algorithms

In this course we learned the methodologies in algorithms and problem solving. This course primarily focused on C++ and data structures of the C++ programming languages. The project allows someone to add minutes, seconds and hours to the current time.

This course taught data types, variables, decision statements, loops, functions and file handling. It taught us to understand the common use of scripting languages that are useful in developing applications. Python was the programming language used in this course, we created flowcharts and diagrams as well as learning the basics of Python. It does not include a project and all assignments shows the use of Python.

IT-145 Foundations In Application Development

In this course we learned the industry standards for solving problems in business applications. We learned to write code logically, structurally and organized code according to the OOP concepts. This course uses Java as the primary programming language. In this course we completed flowcharts, worked with creating classes and the project focused on inheritance.
