For our semester project in my web development course, I was tasked with working with a team to design, document and develop a website based on a real world hair salon. My primary role in the development of the site was the technology lead and as such was responsible for coding and testing the site. Additionally, I assisted with the preparation of the team notebook which documented every step in the design process including, pre-planning, development, gathering feedback, making improvements and testing.

Over the course of the semester we learned how to develop applications in Visual Basic using Visual Studio and for our final project were tasked with developing an application of our choosing which would showcase everything we had learned. I crafted an ordering application for a pizzeria that would allow users to choose from a variety of offerings and customization options and would then calculate the item(s) subtotal, delivery charge and applicable taxes along with displaying a list of the ordered item(s). Upon receiving conformation from the user that the aforementioned information was correct the application would then collect purchaser information and their payment method then provide a digital receipt.

I worked as part of a team developing an a database for student run bookstore using Visio and Access. We begun by brainstorming what types of entities we would need along with their necessary attributes and how they would interact with one another. Next, we created a formal diagram for the database in Visio after which I built and connected the entities in Access. Lastly, I designed the forms and reports we would use for adding to and extrapolating data from our database.
