Fanta Cheriff Sissoko

Developed and implemented the first Junior Black & Latino Achievers Program (JBLAP) at the Capital District YMCA. This is a middle school program that prepares youth with leadership skills to utilize in middle school, high school, and beyond. Wrote program curriculum and facilitated meetings. Communicated with professionals to come in as guest speakers. Coordinated field trips that included workplace tours, volunteer opportunities, recreational activities, and more. Served as a mentor and a tutor. Coordinated the Black & Latino Achievers Program which welcomes high school students from all backgrounds, and helps them develop skills, raise their academic standards, graduate from high school and focus on career goals. Mentored youth through the college process, planned and facilitated meetings and served as a chaperone youth on workplace tours, college tours, the Latino Youth Conference, volunteer trips, and recreational activities.

Bonner Service Leader at Siena College's office of Academic Community Engagement (ACE). Completed two AmeriCorps terms. Completed over 1,500 hours of service. Served as office intern for the summer of 2015. Planned a national conference with gathered over 120 people around topics of social justice. Committee member of the Recruitment Team in which we recruited ACE members through collegiate events. Part of the Summer Gear Up Committee which organized logistics for the 10 day long ACE office orientation.
