Junior Black & Latino Achievers Program Coordinator at Capital District YMCA
Developed and implemented the first Junior Black & Latino Achievers Program (JBLAP) at the Capital District YMCA. This is a middle school program that prepares youth with leadership skills to utilize in middle school, high school, and beyond. Wrote program curriculum and facilitated meetings. Communicated with professionals to come in as guest speakers. Coordinated field trips that included workplace tours, volunteer opportunities, recreational activities, and more. Served as a mentor and a tutor. Coordinated the Black & Latino Achievers Program which welcomes high school students from all backgrounds, and helps them develop skills, raise their academic standards, graduate from high school and focus on career goals.
