Gedion Alemayehu

Gedion Alemayehu is a data science and mathematics major at Augustana University along with an enrollment in a Dual Degree Engineering program with Columbia University. He is passionate about sustainable engineering and has done a yearlong research project on sustainable energy extraction and production from a live indigenous plant in Ethiopia. He has proficiency in Python and Arduino programming languages and has experience in the first Africa Code Week Coding workshop sponsored by SAP and Camara Education. In collaboration with Yazmi, a satellite company, he has worked in creating educational modules to be transmitted to thousands of students via satellite. He is currently serving as a senator in the Augustana Student Association.
