February, 19 2018 - Wheaton CollegeAs a Resident Assistant, my primary job is to care for the geriatric residents that live in the facility. I work in 4 different houses within the facility: Arbor (memory care), Arbor Ponds (memory care), Hearth (increased physical care), and Commons (assisted living). My job varies slightly in each area, but generally my responsibilities include:
- Medication administration
- Transfers (physical, mechanical)
- Physical care (showers, physical hygiene, assistance with incontinence, clothing changes)
- Meal assistance
- Emotional care (reassurances, redirection, etc)
- Housekeeping (light)
