Hannah Shiner

My name is Hannah Shiner and I am a professional photographer. I first started photography in 2010 when I owned a little point and shoot camera. Seven years later, I am now an art major with a concentration in photography at Olivet Nazarene University. In my artwork, I use alternative processing in a fine art way for my photographs. Whether that be transferring onto wood or canvas or physically manipulating the paper myself. I grew up sewing and scrapbooking with my mother, so I use that history and that background to physically manipulate my photos by using mixed media. My main themes include traveling and nature, however, I am very well experienced with portraiture. The reason use mixed media isnt just because of my background, its because it lets me expand on my photographs in an impactful way to represent the point Im trying to get across. Whether that be about serenity, pain, silliness, or happiness. My photography and art is my outlet and my way to represent how I see the world.
