Hannah Westwood

Originally from Roseville, California, I began at Westminster College in the Fall of 2017. I am a current Senior in Criminal Justice Studies with a minor in Legal Studies. I was fortunate enough to do my internship with the Wisconsin Department of Justice in their Division of Criminal Investigation unit. There, I was able to work side by side with Special Agents working on a variety of tasks including evidence handling, data entry, crime scene investigation, forensic analysis, and search warrant execution. This experience is where I grew my passion for Criminal Justice and more specifically forensic genealogy. Working together with Special Agent McGrath, I was able to work on a 1984 cold case homicide that relied heavily on DNA and the relatively new science of forensic genealogy. By the end of my internship, we were able to solve this case; making headlines across the state and country. Today, I am actively focusing my education on forensic psychology. I look forward to applying to graduate programs in this field and continuing my education in hopes of working for the state or federal government.
