Deborah Harkness

I grew up in a small town in East Texas. After a year of music education classes, I decided to take some time off from college. I went to Yellowstone National Park to work for the summer and fell in love with the mountains and the lack of humidity. I started a family, enrolled at Montana State University in elementary education, and graduated in 2010. My husband wanted to go further in his career, so we moved to KC so he could complete his dream at UMKC Law. I am now working towards my Masters in Special Education. I am currently a para-educator at Visitation Catholic School, and I am loving it! I decided that I enjoy the opportunity to work with my students either one-on-one or in small groups. My dream is to teach those who are having difficulties in the classroom. I want to help them succeed and realize that they can do anything they set their minds to.
