I transferred to Alvernia University for spring semester in 2016, after attending the University of Pittsburgh for 3 semesters. I was searching for the career path I wanted to take, and I finally found it at Alvernia! I could not be happier with my decision to transfer because I love my major, which is athletic training, and I have become involved on campus. I am in the Athletic Training Student Association, which provides students with guidance through the program and gives students the opportunity to attend Athletic Training conferences. I am also the President of CHAARG, which stands for Changing Health, Attitudes, + Actions to Recreate Girls. We are a new chapter that is a part of the national organization. CHAARG aims to show members that owning your health and fitness means owning your life. We want to change the way people, especially young people, see what it means to be "fit and healthy". CHAARG is open to all students, and I am very proud to be the founder and president of a club that stands for so many positive values. I work part-time as an emergency medical technician (EMT-B) at Kutztown Area Transport Service. I became an EMT because I wanted the opportunity to work with patients and be a part of the health care industry, while I am still in school. This is the most rewarding job I have had so far because I love working and caring for patients. I have learned that it makes such a difference when healthcare providers are compassionate and genuine towards their patients.

Founder and president of the Alvernia CHAARG chapter, which became a registered student organization January 2017. The national organization is made up of 45 chapters. The goal of the organization is to show members that health and fitness can and should be fun!
