As a Crystal Bridges Teen Council Leader, I lead the Crystal Bridges Teen Council Team in weekly meetings, plan community teen events, collaborate with artists, contribute and plan our social media outreach, and work as a volunteer in the community. After being on the Crystal Bridges Teen Council for two years, as a volunteer member, it was an honor to apply and receive the job of a leader. In my job, I collaborated on planning our Teen Night in the Fall of 2021, an event that gives teens the opportunity to have a night out at Crystal Bridges and express themselves. Teen night helps teens in my community become involved in Crystal Bridges and helps them find creative ways to have fun! Additionally, I have worked to create our social media presence on Instagram, Teens at CB. After a year's worth of effort, we opened this account to share educational and fun content, inspiring teens to learn about art history and create art themselves. Another communal event that I have helped plan in my position as a leader, is our Teen Studio Nights. In Teen Studio Nights, we have artists, who have displayed their work at Crystal Bridges, come teach us the techniques they use to create their art, and learn how they started their careers in the art world. In addition to coordinating artists to teach Teen Studio Nights ,I have created and led my own Teen Studio Night. Using my expertise in Dungeons and Dragons, I created a campaign themed around Crystal Bridges that culminated in teaching teens how to play and actually playing a campaign at the museum. Overall my experience working at Crystal Bridges taught me how to work alongside both younger and older collaborators, and to lead others in these successful collaborations.
