Dr. Michaels is experienced in providing services in all levels of care including, Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization, Residential, and Outpatient. She excels in working in fast paced environments as part of a larger multidisciplinary treatment team. She believes a team based, holistic approach is the most effective way to treat many disorders and that timely and clear communication among team members is essential to provide the best care possible to clients. Dr. Michaels adapts treatment modalities to meet clients' needs. She takes a primarily interpersonal approach to therapy, grounding her conceptualization of clients in Attachment and Feminist theory. Hollyn has several years of clinical training using DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and highly values integrating these concepts, skills, and interventions in her work with clients. Additionally, Dr. Michaels specializes in psychological assessment. She utilizes assessment to identify underlying cognitive, behavioral, and personality factors that may be contributing to an individuals difficulty in life functioning. Dr. Michaels synthesizes these results and presents them to clients in order to help them understand themselves better and formulates practical recommendations with her clients to help them make real changes in their lives.
