I've been involved in the transportation industry for over 20 years. Back in the 90's I ran my own detailing & prep company where we reconditioned used semi tractors & trailers, industrial equipment, & personal vehicles. After an opportunity opened up, I accepted the position of Truck Manager at a large commercial equipment dealership in Northern Cincinnati. There, I had a variety of responsibilities ranging from internet sales & advertising to lot management, appraisals on trade-ins & repossessed equipment, and closing deals on wholesale equipment. For the last 6+ years, I've been working for one of the largest commercial semi-trailer dealerships in the Cincinnati area. As the outside service salesperson, my duties include travelling around the tri-state area to meet with customers...discussing their needs & expectations, providing estimates on their equipment (accident repair, maintenance plans, & equipment upgrades/additions), managing the shop technicians & assisting the service manager with day to day operations. Over the years, I've come to appreciate the personal relationships that I've shared with my customers & coworkers. The transportation industry has an interesting mix of people that come from all walks of life & every corner of the globe. I've always believed in treating my customers with respect, no matter if he's the owner of a large multi-million dollar corporation, or a poor farmer with a rusted out 30 year old dump truck. It can take months & even years to get in someone's door, but only seconds to have it shut in your face.
