Greetings Everyone! My name is Teresa Zimmerman and I love to help others! I evolved to the field of psychology out of personal need as well as professional. I have worked in the social services field since 2001 after experiencing homelessness and many other obstacles faced by a young, black, woman, and mother living in an urban community. My goal is to pay it forward for all the helping hands that supported and encouraged me during that time and I feel what better field of study to make the goal a reality. Once I have completed my current program, the goal is to immediately begin working towards degrees in African Studies and Social Justice. Outside of my educational goals, some of my hobbies include music, reading, dancing, and movies. I have recently embarked on a journey of entrepreneurship in vlogging for mental health awareness in the African Diaspora, which I am extremely excited about and thanks to SNHU I am truly learning how these issues continue to have a huge impact on our society and ways in which I can impact change professionally and personally.
