Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps.
In my Junior and Senior year of high school, at Crow Creek High School, we started the first native American JRROTC in the United States of America. The first all Native American high school students JRROTC in the United States. The first JRROTC on a tribal reservation, federal land, in the United States. The Staff Sergeant BRIGGS was the C.O. of the JRROTC that my classmates and I started making headway for other tribal high school students to welcome this program. JROTC stands for Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps. It's a high school program designed to develop leadership, discipline, and citizenship skills in students while introducing them to military values and structure. The program is offered by different branches of the U.S. military, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. Students in JROTC participate in activities like drill training, physical fitness, leadership exercises, and community service. While it doesnt require students to join the military, it provides valuable skills that can be useful in both civilian and military careers.
