Ideation - Conducting research on financial needs among the Kenyan Population including their spending, saving and investments habit. Product development - Developed cognitive mobile financial applications based on research collected and mentorship under the financial inclusion research scientist. Publications - Wrote and contributed in writing of academic papers Research - Part of Watson Life research team which analyzed and developed cognitive solutions tailored for Africa mostly under financial inclusion. Software Architectural Design - Contributed to development of the labs mobile data collection framework for survey analysis and user feedback. I learnt about bud detection using Bluemix quality assurance service as well as application data collection using Mixpanel. Game development - Part of the team involved in developing a gaming application for Watson Life as a front-end and user experience aspects of the application. I learnt about programming mobile game engine (libgdx), android animation procedures and user experience. Hackathons - Part of the backend developers for the Internet of Things (IoT) Hackathon project Software Development - Part of the financial inclusion team tasked with developing a GTO Credit and Payment solution. Project Management - Learnt team project management during application development using Scrum and agile project management methodology. Design Thinking - Carried research in parts of Nairobi. I developed design thinking skills including persona identification and analysis, empathy maps and hypothesis verification.
