Janet B. Tankersley PT, DPT, PhD is an Associate Professor and Assistant Dean of Clinical Practice in the College of Allied Health Sciences and Director of Clinical Education in the Department of Physical Therapy at Augusta University. Dr. Tankersley received her associate and bachelor's degrees in physical therapy from the Medical College of Georgia (currently Augusta University) in Augusta, Ga., her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from A. T. Still University of Health Sciences in Mesa, Arizona, and her PhD in Pediatric Science at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah. Dr. Tankersley is a Board-Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and has over 25 years of experience in pediatric physical therapy practice. She also has 20 years of experience in graduate-level physical therapy education. Dr. Tankersley currently teaches the clinical education curriculum and pediatric curriculum for the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy program at AU. Dr. Tankersley remains active in clinical practice at Childrens Hospital of Georgia and directs the AU Physical Therapy faculty/student pro-bono clinic.
