My name is Janette Pham and I am aspiring to become a physician. I am currently pursuing a Master's in Biomedical Sciences at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. I graduated Temple University with a Biochemistry B.S. and Chemistry B.A. There, I realized my interest in medicine through family reunions in Vietnam where I was able to see how much an impact medicine could make. I am working to expand my knowledge and experience of the medical field in Doylestown, PA through working as a medical scribe at Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists.

Blumberg Institute I am currently reviewing articles about microbial natural products and biologics to evaluate the new methods of development as well as biological activities. It is important to review these new findings as microbial natural products continue to be a key source in drug discovery.

Analyzing Exosomes of Multivesicular Bodies for Liver Disease Biomarkers

Advisor: Dr. Aejaz Sayeed, Baruch S. Blumberg Institute I currently focus on production of exosomes from cell lines known to express liver disease biomarkers. Our objective is to identify new liver disease biomarkers in human blood for the early detection of liver diseases to allow for early intervention.

I participated in a bootcamp at the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute, Doylestown, PA in March 2017. I performed a sandwich ELISA assay to identify candidates from a selection of molecules that inhibit the product of hepatitis B s-antigen while simultaneously exhibiting minimal cytotoxicity.

Advisor: Dr. Robert Przeslawski, (Department of Chemistry, Temple University) January 2012-August 2012 I produced and measured molecular volumes of dicarboxylic acids to evaluate the hydrophobic effects in diacids when comparing between liquid and crystallized form.
