Jared Higgins

I'm an Honors student majoring in Computer Science at Miami University. I currently work part-time alongside the CTO of a tutoring startup as a web developer. I also participate in weekly on-campus coding clubs designed to teach elementary students how to think like developers. I originally began learning how to write programs by myself during middle school. From that, I discovered my affinity for problem solving and translating solutions into programmatic instructions, which led to me pursuing my current degree. I am able to learn quickly, and I am always willing and excited to tackle new challenges that come my way. In the near future, I hope to learn about and get firsthand experience with innovative and exciting technologies that will help shape the future. One field that has caught my eye is machine learning. It appeals to my inquisitive and logical nature as well as my inclination towards mathematics. The far-reaching effects of machine learning on society also suit my aspirations to apply my skills to helping people in a tangible way.
