Carmen Jhaye
Majored in Leadership And Ministry, Minored in Business Management
Ohio Christian University, Class of 2018
From Pasadena, CA
Carmen began her journey with the Lord at the tender age of sixteen years old. She immediately joined the praise and worship team at the Christian Fellowship Center (the late Bishop Bill McKinney & Bishop Shirley McKinney) in Cleveland, Ohio and wrote many of the anointed praise and worship songs. God used Carmens voice to help bring the congregation into higher worship and exhort his people to always praise the Lord when they feel like it and when they dont. While singing with the musical group Praise, Carmen was blessed to share the stage with many gospel artist and groups including Commissioned, Vickie Winans, Gary Oliver, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Miller, Walter Hawkins, Daryl Coley, Phil Driscoll, and Beau Williams.
As a young adult, Carmen went on to pursue a degree in business and music composition at the Binghamton University in upstate New York. While attending school, she was asked to direct the Binghamton University Gospel Choir and graciously served as musician and director of music for five consecutive years. Through the local ministry, Faith Evangelistic Church, (the late Benjamin I. Thomas Sr., Pastor), Carmen received intensive Bible training which led to certificates in Christian discipleship, and mentoring. Carmen was also recognized by the Binghamton University for her outstanding leadership in school, music and ministry.
Having proven her divine gift and calling to the ministry of the Gospel of Christ, Carmen was ordained as a minister at the House of Jubilee Ministries (Apostle Willie Trotter & Pastor Michelle Trotter) on June 25, 2006 in her hometown of Cleveland. She was used by God to teach and preach His Word with humor, transparency and conviction, and often ministered prophetically to the entire congregation while the mighty anointing of God filled the house. Her ministry brought healing, deliverance and freedom through Gods Holy Spirit as many were challenged and encouraged to live a lifestyle of Victory through all and in spite of all opposition and adversity.
Pastor Carmen moved to the Los Angeles area in 2011 to continue her journey in Jesus, and is currently the Senior Pastor at New Dawn Missionary Baptist Church located in Pasadena, CA. She is a third year student at the Ohio Christian University seeking to strengthen her knowledge in leadership and ministry. She currently works for Axis Insurance in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, and is the proud mother of a beautiful daughter named Zo, and grandmother of one lovely girl, RaMiah, and two handsome boys, Terrin and DeVin.
A woman of many gifts and talents, Carmen is the creator of Vaparo (Victory) clothing and watches, the LadyEgo personal protection device, and along with teaching and preaching the gospel, is on her way to becoming a successful business woman who plans to humbly rely on the Holy Spirit within her to live a lifestyle of victory and give glory to the Father and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
