I am an undergraduate at Clemson University in The Calhoun Honors College seeking a B.S. In Bioengineering and a minor in Economics. I am pursuing a degree in Bioengineering due to a deep interest in prosthetic devices, as well as tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. All research that I participate in is with the intent to gain a deeper understanding of the academic research environment, gain lab experience, and feel as though I helped solve some problem. However, after graduation I plan to pursue a career in law. While I see myself maintaining a connection to the medical device and regenerative medicine fields, I believe my skills are best suited to a career that involves more interactions with individuals and bringing new technologies to the front of the market in order to directly benefit human health. I am passionate about tackling what others see as an impossible challenge, I believe this is where the most progress will be found.

Work Experience

Intern at Advanced Ocular Imaging Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin

I am responsible for redesigning a mechanized patient interface for retinal scanning devices based on adaptive optics, which includes Ocular Coherence Tomography and Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope. This includes developing parts needed and drawing them in AutoDesk Inventor so that they can be 3D printed, as well as communicating with external companies to incorporate the correct components. I also assist other lab members in the development and printing of parts for their projects.
