Her award-winning research and teaching focus on critical professional development for K-12 teachers to support them in developing more effective and equitable teaching practices around 21st-century disciplinary literacies. Her forthcoming dissertation is "Learning Linguistics, Teaching for Change: Preparing Secondary Educators to More Equitably Teach Disciplinary Literacies."
