Karsen Miller

I am currently a dedicated junior marketing student at the Tippie College of Business. Throughout my collegiate career, I have increased my GPA from a 3.72/4.00 to a 3.83/4.00. I strive to improve myself in every facet of both my education and my professional career. To accomplish that goal, I have taken on an immense responsibility as the VP of Philanthropy and Fundraising within the American Marketing Association University of Iowa Chapter (AMA). In becoming more involved with AMA, I have not only found myself working harder at my academics but have also found a rewarding way to serve my peers within the college. In order to establish myself professionally within the marketing field, I sought out and landed the Brand Ambassador Internship with OrderUp. I currently specialize in reaching out to area businesses in order to promote our services. When the noon whistle blows, I want Iowa City and Coralville's local businesses to look to OrderUp for a convenient way to feed the whole office. Whether that means dropping off free cupcakes and coupons or sponsoring a lunch for the entire department, I will make it happen. I am also still employed with Fareway Stores as a cashier and office assistant. While I do not currently work here as frequently as OrderUp, I accredit this position to teaching me a majority of my communication and customer service skills. In business, it is crucial to make the customer aware that they are the most important part of the organization. Fareway truly embraces this idea with our unbeatable customer service and down-home Midwestern spirit. With a passion for animals and a love for the fast-paced retail environment, my current goal is to achieve a marketing career in the pet retail industry.
